Our knowledgeable captain and crew will lead you on an educational journey along the Atlantic coast in search of whales, dolphins, seals, and seabirds. The highlight of these trips is spotting humpback whales, which can often be seen breaching, flipper slapping, or tail lobbing. This is an experience you do not want to miss!
All of our boats are equipped with two bathrooms, a snack bar, a full adult beverage bar, a heated indoor cabin with comfortable seating, and have two spacious decks that are perfect for spotting Virginia’s magnificent wildlife.

- Dress for the weather! It can be slightly cooler out on the water especially in the spring, fall, and winter. We may have to cancel trips due to high winds, but our cruises will still go when it is raining.
- Your comfort is a priority! We want to ensure that all of our passengers feel at home on the water and have everything they could need right at the tip of their fingers. Whether you want to enjoy an adult beverage (don’t forget to bring your ID for our craft beers & spirits!) while watching the wildlife in their homes or to purchase a memento to remember the trip, the Rudee fleet has it all inside the climate-controlled cabin and ship store.
- The duration of the trip may vary dependent upon conditions and sightings. Allow for flexibility around the anticipated return time and prepare appropriately.
- Show your crew some love! Our crew is a big part of what makes every Rudee Tours adventure special! From assisting with the operation of the vessel, to answering questions, sharing local knowledge, collecting valuable data on the wildlife we encounter, and making sure you have a great day on the water, they’re here to help make sure your trip is safe, comfortable, and enjoyable from start to finish.
Our mates work for gratuities, and tips are greatly appreciated. Gratuity is not included in the price of your ticket. If you enjoyed your experience, tipping your mate is a wonderful way to show your appreciation! - Parking is not included and all vehicles are required to pay the daily rate of the parking lot.
